Maintaining the ducted air conditioner unit
Once our technician was onsite they checked the filters, drain and the operation of the ducted unit.
Filters – All the filters needed a good clean. To clean an ActronAir ducted air conditioner filter we removed the filter from the return air and gave it a gentle brush and vacuum to get rid of any dust accumulation. Another option is to give it a gentle cleaning with water, letting it completely dry before replacing it and securing it with the front panel or grille.
Corrosion and Rust – We visually inspect the coil to look for any obvious indications of corrosion, such pitting, discolouration, or rust on the metal surface. We pay special attention to regions like the spaces surrounding joints and connections where moisture or condensation may build up. Next, we look for any indications of refrigerant leaking around the coil.
Pressure Test – Before we pressure test the unit we purge the system with dry nitrogen that removes excess water. Once we fit the gauge we look for leaks or signs that the system is not at its optimum performance rating.
General Check-up – After we have completed the cleaning of the filters and maintenance we do a visual check of the entire ducted air conditioning system.
